Mediterranean

Ancient civilizations, dramatic coastline, blue waters, sun-drenched summers and beautiful tables laden with healthy, fresh food. These are just some of the images associated with the countries and islands that surround and make up the Mediterranean Sea. No one nation can lay exclusive claim to the laid-back lifestyle and mild weather for which this region is justifiably famous: indeed we think of Greece and Turkey, Spain and Portugal, Italy and France, Croatia and Montenegro, Corsica and Sardinia, Morocco and Malta. While a wonderful place for relaxation such that it’s on many a honeymooner’s list, a deeper dive reveals thousands of years of history, and its resulting panoply of cultures and people. While it may be the lovely climate that attracts us initially, it’s this history, and the sheer beauty and hospitality of the Med that keeps us coming back time and again.
